A suggestion for a method:

Storage Technology makes robot-manipulated tape cartridge silos that hold=
6,000 cartridges of 120MB each. Multiple silos can be linked. Store =
all your data with five times redundancy. Annually, and automatically, =
compare each set of five cartridges that comprises a single logical volum=
e. If one tape varies from the other four, throw it out, and make anothe=
r good fifth to replace it. If two tapes vary, differently from each oth=
er, and differently from the other three, throw out the two and remake =
them. If another circumstance occurs, a human evaluates it. Maintain =
two geographically separate, redundant sites (so there are actually ten =
copies of any tape at any time). When the advance of technology requires=
a format change, comply. There is some probability that, with adequate =
commitment of stewardship, the data would persist, pristine, for a fair =
length of time.
