It is one thing to make analogies of the classics in
ceramic and quite another to use ceramics as a substrate
for digital data. I'd submit that these Japanese copies
are at least one step beneath the originals, but symbolic
records in ceramic or even baked mud, can be copies every bit
the equivalent of an original.
