I wonder, too, if there is some kind of measurement, akin to the Hamming
Distance, that can be used to indicate how many generations away a
document (both 1 and 2) have traveled while they are being exercised.
There may be some rule of thumb that says, "A document needs to be
exercised every nth platform, or else it dies."
On the other hand maybe there is document half-life through translations.
"Every time a document is translated, it lowers its mortality by 30%. But
every time you exercise it, it raises its mortality by 20%."
