A lovely, dense to-do list, Gary. It's further indication that this is not
a silver-bullet-type problem, but a patiently-civilize type problem.

A nice example of this is the recent work by The Getty to universalize
globally "Object ID"---a standard way of describing valuable art and
archeological-artifact works, so that dealers, customs people, museums,
law-enforcement, owners, and so on ALL describe precious objects in the
same terms. It's as invaluable as it is simple.
