I just finished reviewing Octavio's first CD and was very, very
impressed. If you aren't familiar with Octavo, it is a startup brainstorm of John
Warnock, dedicated to publishing high-fidelity reproductions of rare first
editions on CD. Their first publication is a reproduction of a first of
Shakespeare's "Poems" (1640 edition) from Warnock's library. Fidelity is
extraordinary (zoom to 800%). They even include images of the blank pages at
the front and back of the book. You can see every fox, blemish and ink
spot.
